Best in Thailand – Ko Lanta

It is not often that you have the opportunity to see the best in a country, especially if that country happens to be Ko Lanta, the capital city of Thailand. Many of the other tourist spots I have been to have been pretty bad, and I always try to steer clear whenever possible; however, I knew that it would be a bad idea to miss out on this particular gem of a city, which is located right in the middle of Bangkok. The food in Ko Lanta is definitely top-notch, which is one of the main reasons why people travel all over the world just to go to Ko Lanta as well.

On our trip, we decided to stay at the Four Seasons Resort Ko Lanta, which was located right near some of the most beautiful beaches on earth. Some days prior, we met them at a couple of the bars on the island. They were going to Ko Lanta for a couple of days. We never said no to an aspiring French speaker/intellectual who could barely speak a couple phrases of French; we just could not say no to someone with a French accent.

The rest of the group that came with us consisted of some guys from California, Miami and Ontario (all in their twenties). None of them had ever been to Thailand before, and all of them made it a point to visit the major tourist attractions in Ko Lanta while here. This was a pretty impressive feat considering that most Americans never set foot into the tiny island nation of Thailand. Even though the Four Seasons is among the nicest hotels in Ko Lanta, the service was not the greatest, nor was the quality of food. While all the others in the Four Seasons Resort had excellent service, nothing compared to the wonderful service that our friends got at the Ko Lanta Beach Resort. We will definitely be back.
